These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and the operator of Iconstein ("Iconstein," "the Game," "we," "us"), available at iconstein.com. By accessing or playing the Game, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Game.
The Game is intended for a general audience. If you are under the age of 13 (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country), you should only use the Game with the involvement of a parent or guardian. See our Privacy Policy for details on children's privacy.
Iconstein is a free, browser-based combination game in which players merge elements to discover entries representing real historical and public figures, alongside fictional/conceptual elements, provided for entertainment and educational purposes. We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and play the Game on your own devices for non-commercial personal use, subject to these Terms.
Iconstein is independent, unofficial content created for parody, commentary, and educational purposes. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any person, estate, company, or organization referenced within it. No photographs, logos, or trademarks are used; every icon is an original emoji-style illustration. Quotations are attributed to their original speakers for informational purposes only. Inclusion of any person reflects their historical or cultural achievement in their field only and is not an endorsement, criticism, or comment on that person's life, actions, or views, nor is any omission.
If you are, or represent, a person or estate referenced in the Game and have a concern about your depiction, contact us (Section 12) and we will review it in good faith.

The Game's original code, design, layout, and written content (excluding factual biographical information, public-domain quotations, and any content owned by third parties) are owned by Iconstein or its licensors and are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. Except as expressly permitted under Section 2, you may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, or create derivative works based on the Game without our prior written permission.
If the Game offers a feature to submit feedback, ideas, or suggestions, you grant us a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, modify, and incorporate that feedback into the Game or related products without any obligation to compensate or credit you. Do not submit anything you do not have the right to share, or that contains personal information about yourself or others.
The Game may display third-party advertising, including through Google AdSense or similar networks, to support free access, and may load fonts or other resources from third-party providers (see our Privacy Policy). These third parties operate under their own terms and privacy policies, which are outside our control. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of any third-party advertiser or service.
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Game (or any part of it), temporarily or permanently, at any time and without notice or liability. We do not guarantee the Game will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free, or that any data (including locally stored progress) will be preserved indefinitely.
THE GAME IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE BIOGRAPHICAL OR FACTUAL CONTENT IN THE GAME IS COMPLETE, ACCURATE, OR CURRENT, AND IT SHOULD NOT BE RELIED UPON AS AUTHORITATIVE.
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL ICONSTEIN, ITS OPERATOR, OR ITS SUPPLIERS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF, OR INABILITY TO USE, THE GAME, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. TO THE EXTENT ANY LIABILITY IS NOT VALIDLY EXCLUDED, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE GAME WILL NOT EXCEED USD $50. NOTHING IN THESE TERMS EXCLUDES OR LIMITS LIABILITY THAT CANNOT BE EXCLUDED OR LIMITED UNDER APPLICABLE LAW, INCLUDING FOR CONSUMERS IN JURISDICTIONS THAT PROVIDE NON-WAIVABLE PROTECTIONS.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Iconstein and its operator from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your violation of these Terms or your misuse of the Game.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles, except where mandatory consumer-protection laws of your own country of residence grant you additional or different rights that cannot be waived by contract, in which case those mandatory local protections will apply to you. Any dispute not resolved informally may be brought exclusively in the courts having jurisdiction over the operator's residence, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
We may update the Game or these Terms at any time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of the Game after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Game and supersede any prior agreements.
