Iconstein is an independent, solo-developed browser game. This policy is written in plain language and follows common practice for small web publishers under the EU/UK GDPR, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), and the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). It is provided in good faith and is not a substitute for independent legal advice.
This Privacy Policy explains what information Iconstein ("we," "us," "the Game," accessible at iconstein.com) collects, why, how it is used, and the choices and rights you have. By using the Game, you acknowledge this policy.
Iconstein is operated by an individual developer. For any privacy question or request, contact amiwkim@gmail.com. We do not have a dedicated Data Protection Officer or EU/UK representative, as is common for small independent projects of this size; requests are still handled personally and promptly at the address above.

We do not sell your personal information for money. Under CCPA's broad definition, the use of advertising cookies to enable interest-based ads may be considered a "share" — see Section 7 for your opt-out options.

The Game itself does not set tracking cookies — it uses browser local storage (not a cookie) solely to remember your progress on your own device. If advertising is active, our ad partners may set cookies or use device identifiers as described in Section 2.3. Where required by law (e.g., for users in the EU/UK), non-essential advertising cookies will only be set after you have been given the opportunity to consent, and you can withdraw consent at any time via your ad platform's settings or your browser's cookie controls.
Most browsers let you block or delete cookies through their settings; blocking cookies may reduce ad relevance but will not prevent you from playing the Game.
We do not share, rent, or sell any information we directly collect to third parties for their own marketing purposes. The only third parties involved are:

You have the right to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a copy of any personal data we hold, to restrict or object to our processing, and to withdraw consent at any time without affecting prior lawful processing. Because we hold almost no identifiable data ourselves, most of these requests can be fully resolved by clearing your browser's local storage; for anything else, contact us (Section 9). You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
California residents have the right to know what personal information is collected, to request deletion or correction, to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information (including cross-context behavioral advertising), and to non-discrimination for exercising these rights. Iconstein is designed for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the relevant minimum age in your country). The Game itself requests no personal information from any player. If ads are served, we configure our advertising settings to avoid personalized advertising to any traffic identified as child-directed, consistent with COPPA. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Because the Game does not collect an account or profile from you, there is very little of yours for us to secure. Local-storage data lives only on your device under your browser's own security model. Standard web logs (Section 2.2), where generated by our hosting provider, are retained only as long as reasonably necessary for security and operational purposes and are then deleted or anonymized.
Iconstein is accessible worldwide, and our hosting and advertising providers operate internationally. If you are located in the EU/UK/EEA, information processed by our providers (such as Google) may be transferred to and processed in the United States or other countries, under safeguards those providers maintain (such as Standard Contractual Clauses). We do not ourselves transfer any personal data internationally beyond what your device already sends when loading the page.
Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal. There is no accepted industry standard for how to respond to DNT, so the Game does not currently respond to it directly; however, the opt-out choices in Section 7 remain fully available to you regardless of your DNT setting.
We may update this policy as the Game, applicable law, or our advertising setup changes. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the Game after a change means you accept the revised policy.
